Search Engine- Internet Sovereign

A web search engine is specially designed to search any information on the World Wide Web. The search results are presented in a list of results. These results are from web directories, maintained by human editors containing web pages, images and other type of files. Some time these results are also taken from mine data available in database or open directory.

The web search engine stores information about web pages through HTML itself which are actually retrieved by web crawler that is web spider. Web spider follows each and every link on the site. Web pages are then indexed by analyzing words which are extracted from the title, heading, meta tags. The information about the web pages is always stored in an index form so that it can be used for later fired queries.

The web page storage practices are different for different search engines, like Google stores all or part of the source page termed as cached. The search engines like AltaVista, store every word of every page they find. This cached page always holds the actual search text since it is the one that was actually indexed, so it can be very useful when the content of the current page has been updated and the search terms are no longer in it. The user normally expects the search terms to be on the returned pages. When the query is submitted to search engine, the engine examines the index and then provide listing of best matched web pages. The list of result searched are totally depends upon the relevancy of the web page. The factors that which web pages are the best matches and what order the results should be shown in, varies widely from one engine to another.

There are mainly two types of search engine: one is a system of predefined and hierarchically ordered keywords that humans have programmed extensively. Most of the web search engines allow advertisers to pay money to have their listings rank higher in the search results.

There are so many factors that affect the ranking in search engines. Different algorithms are followed by various search engines. Many changes and factors are getting acquainted by search engine to increase the relevancy and accuracy in their search results. So such more blog posts will be introduced to discuss new upcoming strategies and updates in various search engines.
